1968 SCOUT 800 V8
Here is a very nice looking 1968 International Scout 800. It has its original factory 304 V8 engine and floor shift 3 speed transmission. Of course its four-wheel drive and has a very strong Ramsey 8000lb. electric winch.
The truck runs and drives better than most old Scouts. The steering is tight and the wheels and tires are almost new. The motor is strong and runs nicely but it does smoke a bit at start up. The clutch is good and the transmission shifts well. The brakes are good but typical old manual drum brakes. I would do disks up front.
The truck has been painted the original color. Some bumps and bruises were not fixed, and just painted over. Butpeople love it! Its a nice 10 footer. The Scout has its original seats and all the gauges, wipers, horn and lights work. There's even a old Cobra CB radio. There's also a nice roof rack and yesthe top unbolts and makes for a full convertible.
The Scout is ready to play and yestinker. There is some rust in the floors and the inner rocker panels are rusted out on the back side. But these Scouts are pretty straight forward for sheet metal work. It's an easy fix.
If you've got questions.please just give a call. 210-548-1310 ask for Houston Wills. The Scout comes with a clear Texas title.
